This is more disappointing than it sounds, because “Legally Blonde” is guilty of wasting resources. As fun as it is to build its premise, it has in Witherspoon, the gifted veteran of “Election” and “Pleasantville”, an actress who is ready to throw herself completely into the role with excellent effect. Brooke was once Elle`s fitness trainer and a member of her sorority. She believes Brooke is innocent, but Brooke`s daughter-in-law, Chutney, and cabin boy, Enrique Salvatore, say she is guilty and that they saw Brooke standing on Windham`s body, covered in her blood. Brooke testifies that she loved her husband and only found him after he was shot. Three years later, she was named the best in her class and in her opening speech, she proposed to Emmett, who accepted. Everyone celebrates her blonde friend and heroine, Elle Woods (“Finale”). “She was very funny, with a sour sense of humor,” Monroe biographer Sarah Churchwell said in an interview with the Christian Science Monitor. “The stupid blonde was a role – she was an actress, for heaven`s sake! It is understandable that she did not want this information to be revealed in court, but she could have simply asked her lawyers not to reveal her alibi. Solicitor-client privilege would have prevented them from revealing their secrecy, but this knowledge could have helped them prepare a stronger defence. The trainees quickly jump into the case of fitness video guru Brooke Wyndham, who is accused of killing her wealthy husband. After watching her fitness video (“Whipped into Shape”), the trainees meet her in a correctional facility, where, thanks to her Delta Nu sorority, she refuses to pass on her alibi to anyone but Elle. Brooke confidently tells Elle that she received liposuction the day her husband was killed, so there`s no way she could be guilty, but no one can know because her fitness empire would be destroyed. The other interns demand that Elle abandon Brooke`s alibi, but She refuses to violate her promise Delta Nu. She wins the case for her unique knowledge of the permanent maintenance techniques that allow her to destroy the killer`s alibi in court. In Elle`s very first class, she is randomly asked to answer a question, then expelled for not reading. It`s all pretty fun, but once the film establishes Elle at Harvard, it seems difficult to build on its eminently useful premise.
It goes in two directions, but neither offers much satisfaction. She said it`s not uncommon to apply for “opportunities in the fall that won`t happen until the following summer.” Often, you are competing with students from your law school and other law schools. Chutney reveals that she shot her father, but thought it was Brooke who had walked through the door. She was angry with her father for marrying someone; who is the same age as her and hated Brooke because she married her father. Before the trial continues, Brooke fires Callahan and hires Elle as her new lawyer, overseeing Emmett. She successfully uses her knowledge of hair care to get Taylor`s daughter-in-law to confess to the murder, saving the day as planned, but leaving open the question of what Brooke Taylor actually did that day, as she almost certainly didn`t have liposuction. Brooke Taylor-Windham is one of the supporting characters in Legally Blonde. Back at the show, Paulette has eyes for Kyle, a UPS delivery driver, but isn`t confident enough to pursue him. She teaches him a guaranteed move to win every man`s affection – the Bend and Snap (“Bend and Snap”), but when Paulette tries, she accidentally breaks Kyle`s nose. For a film that talks about the pursuit of ambition, there are some pretty strong anti-feminist themes. Some of them, like Elle, who goes to Harvard to hunt down a man, can be forgiven because the film is about her becoming an independent woman, and this plot helps accentuate her journey. But others, such as Enid Wexler`s portrayal as a caricature of modern feminism, are quite disturbing. If Brooke was so concerned about her reputation, this person probably wouldn`t even know why she needed a doctor`s office turn. It was probably a full-time driver who drove them everywhere anyway, because people with that kind of money don`t patronize to plebeian activities such as driving.
Why not just put that person on the stand? Why not his doctor? They are bound by doctor-patient confidentiality, and the very procedure she received is far from relevant to this murder trial. She returns to the case, but Callahan has a different agenda and tries to kiss her. just like Vivienne comes back unnoticed. She rejects Callahan`s advances and is fired. Defeated, she prepares to return home, convinced that she has always been considered a joke, even though Emmett asks her to stay, and finally realizes that he is in love with her (“Legally Blonde”). She comes to the living room to say goodbye to Paulette, but Vivienne – who witnessed what happened to her in Callahan`s office and finally understands her – convinces her to keep fighting. The entire living room gathers behind Elle as she returns to the courtroom (“Legally Blonde – Remix”), where Brooke sends Callahan back and hires Elle to continue her defense. “But it`s a movie, and it`s a great scene, so I`ll forgive him for being dramatic,” Fuller added. Chutney Windham: Two a year since I was 12. They do the math. Also disappointing is the fact that if she is strengthened at the end of the film and drops Warner forever, she always ends up with a man.
Thankfully, this isn`t an important plot point, but it would still have been nice if She had finished the film as a single, self-reliant woman. “In the limited experience I`ve had so far with legal internships…
